Vincenzo Agostino

Obituary of Vincenzo Agostino

It is with heavy heart and deep sadness that we let you know that Vincenzo Agostino, 90, died Monday, December 17, 2018. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Lina (Minici) Agostino; his daughter, Mariann Pulisciano and husband Stephen; his son, Dominick Agostino and wife Debbie; his son Rocco Agostino and wife Sandy; his daughter Rosa Zucaro and husband Michael; his nine grandchildren, Jason, Samantha, Alexandra, Jacqueline, Dominique, Amanda, Vincent, Taylor and Michael; and many, many close friends.

Born and raised in Marina di Gioiosa, Reggio Calabria, Italy.  Vincenzo married Lina in 1958 and moved to Toronto, Canada to start their family. After the birth of their first three children, the family moved to Corona, New York and had their fourth child.

In his early years, Vincenzo had many professions including owner of a grocery store and food truck, butcher, landscaper and lastly Shop Stewart for Nanco Construction.

After many years of hard work and raising his family, Vincenzo retired in 1990. He finally was able to pursue his passions of fishing, making wine, playing bocce, spending time with his children and grandchildren and planning and eating meals with Lina.

Vincenzo was the light and center of our family and we are filled with grief over his passing. He was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life, loved his family, friends, a glass of wine and a bowl of pasta.  We will miss him every day.
