August 15, 1920 - December 23, 2018

Basmat Ramdin also know as BettyGyal formerly of Tain Settlement, Guyana passed away on December 23, 2018 peacefully in her sleep of natural causes in Queens, New York.

Basmat came to America over 40  years ago and resided in Queens, NY until the time of her passing.

Basmat was marrried to the late SunnyPaul Ramdin who passed away at a young age.

Basmat had 4 brothers named Ramnat, Ballakai, BackraBoy, and ChennyBoy. Basmat had 1 sister named Mutt who passed away last November.

Basmat was the mother of 4 children : Ballo who passed away in 1999, Bethlyn, Radika, and Dato.

Basmat had 1 daughter in law and 3 son in laws: Ahalia, Milton, Victor, Dido.

Basmat was a Grandmother of 10 children: Buds who passed away in 2005, Anand, Davo, Robby, Raymond, Desmond, Michelle, Melanie, Teresa, Vanessa, John who passed away on December 10, 2014 and was burried on December 23, 2014, and Sandy who passed away on December 18, 2014 and was buried on December 24th, 2014.

Basmat was a Great Grandmother of 12 children: Michael, Daniel, Sydney, Priya, Sunita, Surika, Stephani, Brandon, Junior, Nicholas, Naayiemah, and Adam.

Basmat was a Great Great Grand Mother to 3 children: Isabella, Gabriella, and Ariella

Basmat was 98 and a half years old at the time of her passiing. Despite her advanced age, Basmat still had a sharp, sound mind and could recall memories of her early life.

Basmat will truly be loved and missed by her entire family. Even though her body is no longer here, her spirit lives on in us. Thank Lord in Jesus name we can count on His promise that when we are absent from our bodies we are finally at rest in the presence of the Lord. Amen
