Obituary of Carmine Foresto
My dad, Carmine Foresto is survived by his wife, Teresa and his four children. Anthony, Josephine, Angelo & Silvana. He immigrated from Naples, Italy to America in 1960 in search of new beginnings & opportunities. He loved to cook & was an accomplished master chef opening up several restaurants on long island. He worked night & day alongside with my mother. In 1986, he sold them all and moved to where he claims his roots kept calling him back! Instead of taking it easy and enjoying the fruits of his labor, he started up in the restaurant business all over again, this time in his homeland! My dad had a work ethic like no other. He had a heart of gold, loved animals, bacci ball & the card game scopa. He had a great sense of humor & loved making people feel good..if not with his words, with his masterful dishes! I brought my parents back to the United States due to early onset dementia two & half years ago. Although we didnt get to see each other much while they lived in Italy, we certainly made up for alot of time lost when they moved back. We were together all the time!! They enjoyed cooking with me @ my home as they felt truly in their element while doing so!! Its true when they say, ‘its quality, not quantity!’ I will always cherish every quality moment given to me from my dad these last few years! Just wish it had been longer!! U will be forever missed!!
