Nina Ann Amico, 73, was a one of a kind. A special soul that passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of John Amico, beloved mother of Steven Ferraro, John Amico and his wife Laura Amico, and Toni Ann Catapano and her husband Danny Catapano, and cherished grandmother of John Rocco Amico.

Family was at the heart of Nina’s life. Her greatest joy and most treasured accomplishment were her three children, whom she raised with unconditional love and guidance. She was a loving and selfless mother, always putting her family’s happiness above all else.

Those who knew Nina will forever remember her incredible warmth, kindness, and infectious sense of humor. She was thoughtful, considerate, generous, and endlessly selfless. Despite suffering a life-altering stroke in 2011, Nina’s positivity and love for people never wavered. Her strength and resiliency were a testament to her indomitable spirit, inspiring all who knew her. She brought light and joy into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Nina shared a deep bond with her parents, Anthony and Florence, her sister Regina and her husband Lou, and her loving nieces. Her family ties remained strong throughout her life and brought her immense happiness.

She had a lifelong love for dancing and music. Whether it was disco beats or popular songs from the 1960's through the early 2000's, Nina’s spirit came alive when the music played. Dancing was her way of spreading joy—something that those closest to her will always cherish.

Her children fondly recall learning to dance in the kitchen with her, sharing laughter, telling jokes, and doing impressions from their favorite movies. These are memories that will remain forever etched in their hearts.

Nina’s legacy is one of family, love, and laughter. Her beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A private service will be held to honor her life and memory on Sunday, February 2nd, from 4-8pm at Park Funeral Chapels in New Hyde Park. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3rd, at 9:30am at Notre Dame Catholic Church in New Hyde Park. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Stroke Association.
