Grandma died in Easter Sunday, the same day as Pope Frances. She would have loved that. Her two favorite symbols were crosses and hearts. She was devoted to God and Love, two things most worthy of devotion. I like to think that she died willing and unafraid, secure in the knowledge that heaven awaited, the way we here on earth can be sure of the next sunrise. May you rest in peace Grandma, and may her memory be a blessing. I love you Grandma. Love, Zoe

Grandma “Re” The skies above have been shining bright, a gentle reminder that you’re now with Grandpa, who was waiting at the gates of heaven with arms wide open after twelve long years apart. As much as we’ll miss you, and as deeply as I know my father will miss you, especially after all those visits and celebrations of your many milestones, we take comfort in knowing Grandpa and your siblings were there to welcome you to heaven. As the years go on without you, I’ll continue to look for your signs. Each year, especially during Nurses Week, I’ll miss your calls, the way you’d proudly tell me how proud you were that I became a nurse, and ask how many babies I’d delivered. I know you'll be right beside me in all I do. I picture you and Grandpa dancing together again, just like you did at my Sweet Sixteen, especially on my wedding day this year. I’ll carry your love with me always, continuing to eat hearty, to love fiercely, and to live with the same warmth and kindness you always showed. “Love you lots” will forever echo in my heart.
