Obituary of Marie Paolantonio
Marie Paolantonio, beloved matriarch, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. The daughter of an Italian American immigrant, she carried forward a legacy of courage, deep faith, and fierce devotion to family. One of 14 siblings, she grew up in a household where resilience was the rhythm of daily life.
She found her home—and her heart—on Long Island, where she and her late husband, Vito Paolantonio, built a life rooted in hard work, love, faith, and the pursuit of the American dream. Together, they raised four children—Sal, James, Angela, and JoAnn—instilling in them the values of perseverance, hard work, family, and faith.
Far more than just a mother and wife, she was the joyful heartbeat of every gathering, a woman whose energy filled every room she entered. Known for her warmth, her sharp wit, and her unmistakable sense of style, she was as grounded in tradition as she was open to life’s surprises.
Her legacy lives on in her five grandchildren—James, Emily, Kyle, Sarah, and Zoe—and six great-grandchildren—Kira, Audrey, Etta, Hattie, and baby Fallon, & great-grandson James III —each touched by her boundless love and spirit.
She was the soul of her family, a bright flame that will continue to burn in the stories, celebrations, and laughter she leaves behind.
