Obituary of Joseph Musso
In Loving Memory of Joseph Musso
January 15, 1930 – May 11, 2025
Joseph Musso, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and fearless entrepreneur, passed away on May 11, 2025, in New York at the age of 95.
Born in Giuliana, Sicily, Joseph carried with him the heart and traditions of Italy when he immigrated to the United States. He arrived with nothing but determination and faith—and through hard work and vision, he built a life of deep purpose and success in real estate. But success never changed his heart. Because he never forgot where he came from, Joseph made it his mission to help those less fortunate. Whether it was offering a job, a place to stay, or quiet financial support, he lifted others as he climbed.
Real estate was never just a business for Joseph—it was a reflection of his values: building something lasting, creating opportunity, and taking bold risks for those he loved and believed in.
Joseph was the kind of man who, when presented with someone else’s problem, took it on as his own. His ability to listen, to care, and to act defined his relationships with family, friends, and the countless people who sought his guidance. He was admired not only for his success but for his character—steady, wise, generous, and loyal.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elena Musso, and their four children: Olivia Clarke, Emilio Musso, Victor Musso, and Elena Musso-Grundmann. He is also lovingly remembered by his daughter-in-law, Deborah Musso, and son-in-law, Dennis Grundmann. His legacy continues through his ten adoring grandchildren: Andrea Clarke, Joseph Clarke, Alexander Musso, Matthew Musso, Dana Musso, Oliver Musso, Joseph Musso, Vito Musso, Giuliana Grundmann, and Henrik Grundmann. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Thomas Hall, Lucas Musso, and Ruth Musso.
Joseph’s life was a testament to faith, family, and the strength of the human spirit. He leaves behind a deep and enduring impact on all who knew him
