Dominic Cardone

Obituary of Dominic Cardone

Dominic Cardone, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in East Meadow, N.Y on Thursday, July 3, 2025.  He was surrounded by his wife Rosalie of 65 years and his loving family.

Dominic was born in Flushing, N.Y on Nov. 15, 1934. He was the middle child of five born to Antonio and Altobella (née DeNunzio) Cardone. At the age of 6 moved to Bayside, N.Y where he lived for the next 75 years.

Dominic graduated Bayside High School in 1953, studied Architecture at Columbia University and the Institute of Design and Construction and built a 50 year career across several prominent firms as a licensed Architect.

Dominic also served in the U.S. Army between 1957 and 1963 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He was a devoted father and husband, a respected leader and a role model for many of us at home and in his professional life. He was a calming force and his incredible wit made all those who knew him smile and carried us through many of the difficult times.

He asked for nothing, tread lightly on this world and left a deep impression on those who knew him. He will be sorely missed.

Dominic is pre deceased by his parents, Antonio and Altobella, sisters Marie (Julius) Chiapperini and Beatrice (Philip) Balducci. Dominic is survived by his sister Annabella (Frank) Magri and brother Anthony and Nanette (Constantino), daughter Laura (Richard) Dursee, son Thomas and DeLora (Kornegay), daughter Christine (Alfred) Karabin, son Robert and Cherie (Hymowitz). As well as grandchildren Quinn, Colin, Charlotte, Ciara and Timothy Dursee, Anthony, Joey and Thomas Cardone, Alyssa Karabin and Holly O’Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Dominic’s name to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
