Obituary of Judy Woon Yin Wong
Judy Wong, 72, of Bronx, NY, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in her home.
The second eldest of six children, she was born on June 8, 1953, in Guang Dong, China, to parents Wing Hong and Lai Kwan Hui. She immigrated to the United States of America with her family in 1966. She grew up in the small town of Glen Cove, NY, with many of her father's relatives. She graduated from Glen Cove High School and received a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from St. John's University.
She met her husband, David Wong, at First Chinese Presbyterian Church in Chinatown. They were married for 49 years and had four children. She is survived by her husband, David; her second eldest son, Jonathan, and his wife, Rosalie; her daughter, Deborah; and her youngest son, David Jacob; as well as her three beautiful grandchildren, Elijah, Elliana, and Isabelle. She was predeceased by her eldest son, Joseph, who passed away on September 27, 2004.
She was known for her infectious laughter, warm smile, quick-witted humor, creativity, and love for Jesus. Her passion was singing and conducting in the church choir and in Chinese opera. She was a determined woman of God, who always reminded everyone around her to put God first.
