Obituary of Sonny Perruchot
Sonny Perruchot of New Hyde Park was a great husband, dad, brother and uncle who lived his life for his family. Sonny was born in Hong Kong on June 26th,1939. He met Polly at work and they married in 1969. Dad then dedicated his life to taking care of his family, working several jobs and putting himself through college at the University of Texas in El Paso. After graduating. he moved to New York in 1974 for better work opportunities. Sonny & Polly ran a laundromat for many years in New Hyde Park. Then he got a job with Chase Manhattan Bank. He eventually worked his way up to become a Vice President at Chase. He saved enough to buy a house on Emmett Street, where he raised his family. He had achieved the American Dream, but still wanted to provide more for his family. He also made some money in real estate, at one point managing 4 different properties. Next Dad pursued a graduate degree and earned his Masters at Baruch College in Manhattan, to achieve all he could for his family.
He was always looking for opportunities for his family, always wanting to do better for his family, always saving money for his family, never taking any vacation unless it was to visit his sister in France. Even when dad had his second major stroke, he was not concerned for himself, he still worried about the family. We had to continually reassure him that everything was taken care of.
Dad passed away Tuesday afternoon on December 23rd 2025 in his home with his beloved family by his bedside. He is survived by his wife Polly, his sons Victor and Roger and his sister Ann Marie.
