Oi Lan Tsui Wong Obituary

To my beloved wife, to our beloved mother, Mrs. Oi Lan Tsui Wong, of Forest Hills, New York passed away of sudden illness at the age of 82 on April 24, 2026.  She was surrounded by family in Katz Women’s Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Oi Lan was born in Zhejiang Province, China to Ms. Po Fung Yeung and Mr. Wing San Wong on December 12, 1943.  She completed initial years of junior high school in China and left her studies behind before moving to Hong Kong to pursue better opportunities.  She went to Hong Kong in 1957 and was working in a textile factory.  She met her future husband in 1965, got married in May 15, 1967 and moved to New York in December 1983 with husband and two sons and worked as a housekeeper and babysitter.

Oi Lan joined Covenant of Grace Presbyterian Church in 2008 and was baptized on April 4, 2010 by Pastor Mak.  She devoted herself to traditional family values, raising two sons, caring for husband, caring for Church, fellow friends and friends.  She found deep connection and belief with Christ and had close fellowship with brothers and sisters in Church.

Oi Lan was very good at many different crafts.  Her handmade creations are more than just crafts, they are masterpieces of her loving heart.  She was a master knitter.  Every sweater she knitted remains the warmest thing we wear, not just because of the wool, but because of the soul she wove into every stitch.  She was a chef.  Her cooking wasn't just food; it was comfort, warmth, and home.  Every bowl of soup she shared with friends was filled with kindness and love.  She was a fashion maker.  Every school uniform she made for her children, every clothe, every scarf, every hat, every bag she made, they are one of a kind unique treasures.  Oi Lan also had a lifelong passion for gardening, walking, taking road trips, caring for Church, fellow friends and family.  She loved her plants and she enjoyed sharing her harvests with others.  Oi Lan was particularly generous with love and helping others.

Her love for husband and mother love for two sons was unconditional and humble but yet extraordinary and was deeply felt by all.  Oi Lan is survived by her husband, Kam Loong and two sons, Kevin and Simon of Forest Hills, New York.  Oi Lan’s legacy of love, generosity, fellowship, family values and friendship lives on.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Covenant of Grace Presbyterian Church,  fellow brothers and sisters, family and friends for their outpouring love and enormous support during this difficult time.  While painful grieving the loss of Oi Lan, we take comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and that she is now rejoicing in the presence of her Savior, protected and loved.  We are looking forward to reuniting with her again through eternity when Jesus returns.
