Stavros was born and raised in the village of Kampos in Chios, Greece, on February 1, 1933. At the age of 16, he traveled the world working on ships and eventually settled in New York. Stavros began his career as a painter and went on to establish his own successful painting business. In 1965, he met his beloved wife, Marika, and they were married in Monessen, Pennsylvania. Soon, after they moved to New York, they welcomed two children, Angelo and Toula. Stavros and Marika built their beautiful family on a foundation of love and devotion. He took great pride in his family and never stopped caring for them. Stavros was compassionate, proud, and deeply committed to those he loved. He took immense pride in his work, approaching each project with care, skill, and dedication. Outside of work, Stavros found great joy in nature and gardening. He nurtured his garden with patience and love. His garden was a reflection of his gentle spirit and brought him a deep sense of peace and fulfillment. Stavros was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife, Marika. He is survived by his children Toula (Neil) and Angelo (Jeiny), and his grandchildren, Stavros, Marika, and Niko. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews both here and in Greece. He believed deeply in family and is now reunited with his parents and four siblings. His legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Stavros’s honor, reflecting his lifelong commitment to his faith and helping others.
