Obituary of George Chennamkara Abraham

In Loving Memory of George Chennamkara Abraham (Kunjumon).

3/28/1947-6/26/2026

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”-- 2 Timothy 4:7

George Chennamkara Abraham, affectionately known as Kunjumon, was a devoted husband, brother, loving father, and cherished grandfather. At the age of 79, he peacefully completed his earthly journey and entered into the presence of the Lord on June 26, 2026, at his home.

He was born on March 28, 1947, in Ranni, Kerala, India, to the late M.K. George and Kunjamma George. He was one of ten children, growing up alongside five sisters and four brothers. After completing his education in Kerala, he began his professional career in Tamil Nadu before later relocating to Pune, where he continued to build his life and career.

On January 28, 1977, he married Aleyamma Oommen of the Tharayasseril family, and together they made their home in Eraviperoor, Kerala. Following their marriage, he moved to Bahrain and later to Abu Dhabi, where he built a life before immigrating to the United States in 2006. In their later years, they found immense joy in living with their son and his family, especially in spending precious time with their beloved grandchildren, whose love and laughter brought immeasurable happiness to their lives.

They faithfully worshipped and fellowshipped with the Ebenezer Brethren Assembly in Belmore. Kunjumon found great joy in reading, taking walks, solving puzzles, and listening to Malayalam hymns and biblical messages. He was known for his warm smile, gentle spirit, and genuine kindness, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Aleyamma Abraham; his son, Rolson Abraham, and daughter-in-law, Sheeba Abraham; his daughter, Rincy Abraham, and son-in-law, Arun Samuel; and his treasured grandchildren, Rebekah, Ethan, Esther, Oliva, and Glen.

Though we grieve his passing, we find comfort in the assurance that he is at peace in the presence of the Lord. His unwavering faith, gentle spirit, kindness, and perseverance have left a lasting legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew him. His memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he so deeply touched.
