Bob, its the other Emily Johnson. I will miss our chats about your boats, your mom, your wife, stories about young Lori...the pride you took in your family... the easygoing talks about just about anything, or nothing at all... sharing a smoke, a scotch, and many laughs. You were so loved. And you will be deeply deeply missed. My condolences to Lori and Phil and Kerstie and Brooke and all who knew and loved him. ♡

Bob, one of a kind you were. A man with strong opinions and your own style of class. You will be missed so much. So sorry to have lost you, so honored to have met you & shared many good times.
You will live on in our hearts forever.

My father was one of a kind. He could exasperate you one moment but you always loved him. His knowledge and love of the sea came from his Swedish father. His love of food, and "always being right", came from his German mother. My mom and I used to call him a thick headed Swede. He taught me right from wrong. How to be a first rate clammer. He also gave me a love of the sea, and knowledge of it to boot. The stories he told me as he got older caused me to envision him as an urban Tom Sawyer. From swimming to Fire Island, hitching rides on freight trains, and raising pigeons and smoking from age 10. It is a wonder he lived 85 good years.
He and his good buddy George Angst joked around that everyone thought they were going to wind up in prison. Quite the opposite was true and they both did better than most that they grew up with.
I will miss having a beer with my dad when he came down. I will miss listening to Frank Sinatra and dancing with him, I will even miss his banter. And not just with me, with my daughter Kerstie, my neighbor, Lisa, or anyone else who disagreed with him. He was ALWAYS right.
There were few people that he did not like and even fewer that did not like him. He loved life and was always up for a good time.
I remember my father not with sadness but with a smile. That is what he would have wanted.

It is with great sadness that we learned of Bob's passing. He and I go back almost 40 years to the old Mainco days. He and Kathy were good friends to me and my wife. He will be greatly missed.
