Obituary

As a husband, a father, a grandfather, a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend, John Varghese (Joy) had many titles. He was born as the fourth child to Late Mr. Varghese Geevarghese and Thankamma Varghese (ThenguvillaPuthen Bunglow, Kizhakketheruve, Kottarakara, Kerala, India) on May 1, 1960.

After his education in India where he received his MS in Chemistry, he emigrated to the United States in 1986.  He was married to Susan Varghese (Kunjumol), on December 26, 1987 in Kerala. Together, they have two beautiful children, Debby and Danny.  He worked as a Chemist at H2M Group for over 25 years.

He was a member of Bethel International Church. He accepted Jesus as his personal savior and was baptized on August 23, 2015.

He is survived by his wife and his heart Susan; his children, Debby & Sijo Koruthu and Danny Varghese; his grandson and namesake, Lucas John Koruthu; his mother, ThankammaVarghese; and his siblings, Thomas Geevarghese (Raju), Sophy Raju, Gracy Daniel, and Benny Varghese.

Joy was a true testimony of God’s grace and mercies. He was kind hearted, he had a contagious smile and sense of humor. He persevered through any challenges faced before him.

Our hearts will miss him dearly.
