Obituary of Skariah T. Samuel

SKARIAH T. SAMUEL Age 83, born May 29, 1936; he passed away peacefully in the presence of his beloved family on March 30, 2020 in Mineola, NY. A celebration of his life will be conducted formally with memorial at a future date at Epiphany Mar Thoma Church in Richmond, NY. Skariah (Sam) was born to Mathai & Mariamma Skariah. Beloved husband of Mary Samuel, father of Shaun (Shibu) Samuel, father of Shaji, father-in-law of Vandana Samuel and grandfather (Appi) of Sapna, Kaitlyn and Priya Samuel. He served in the Indian Air Force and then married Mary Samuel in 1961. Skariah (Sam) moved with his wife, to the United States, from India, in 1972. They lived in Brooklyn, NY and then permanently moved to Mineola, NY in 1982. He retired from the Metropolitan Transit Authority in 1998 as a Car Inspector. He was one of the original members of the Mar Thoma Church in 1972, which was located in Manhattan. He was cherished by his family and friends both in the United States/India and by all who knew him. His sweet smile and gentle soul will truly be missed but his love will always stay in our hearts.
