Obituary of Santo Maggio

Santo “Sandy” Maggio of Garden City, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away on November 11th, 2020. Sandy is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Joann, his children, Christine (James Montroy) and Michael (Kelli O’Donohue), grandchildren Kyle, Olivia, Lia, and Audrey, and step-granddaughters, Megan and Scarlett. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Sandy was the son of Michael and Rose Maggio. He served in the United States Army in Germany in the 1950s as a Sergeant. Sandy earned his Associate’s Degree from Nassau Community College, and enjoyed a long career with the New York City Fire Department, retiring as a Captain after 34 years of service. He was a devoted New York Mets and New York Jets fan. Sandy’s unique sense of humor set him apart. He will remain forever in our hearts. Services will be held at Park Funeral Chapels in Garden City Park on Saturday, November 14th
