Mike aka Sam aka the Big Kahuna! You will be missed!
You were always caring and thoughtful regardless of what may have been happening around you. You were such a wonderful support to me over the years and I will be forever grateful.
No matter what question I threw your way, your response was always ‘let me check it out’. And you did check it out and came back with incredibly creative solutions to whatever I asked you about. More than that, you had a big heart and genuinely cared for people. You loved your family especially your children and grandchildren.
We love you Mike and will miss you always. We will keep you with us through our storytelling as that is our family’s tradition. Love, Eileen

One of the nicest and hardworking person you would ever meet. My heart aches for his family. What a giant hole his passing has created. Mike would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Why these tragedies keep happening is a mystery to me and reminds me to live each day to the fullest and treasure each precious memory. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Grieve now, but always remember all the wonderful times and be sure to carry his legacy into your tomorrows. I am sure we are the ones suffering and his is up in heaven have some fresh mozzarella with Chris and maybe playing a game of bocce. RIP sweet man, it was an honor to know you. Angela Lotito

When I got laid off from nassau county in 1992, MIKE brought me lots of work to keep me going. We went to yankee stadium in a limo once. He was more friend than co-worker!!!

Mike was one of the most authentic people in my family’s life. He made you feel like you were the most important person in the room when he was talking to you. I cannot ever forget his kind gestures and his gifts of time and talent when we were at our lowest. Mike always had a smile, a word of encouragement and a tip for a good restaurant. I will always think of him when I hear the words, “sausage and pepper hero”. He was a gentlemen and a wonderful friend. Sending love to Kathleen and her family. May Mike Rest In Peace.
