Ms Kaveney was my assistant principal at PS 223. I remember her pretty dresses and heels and always was so kind to me, she would always keep me out trouble. She’s crossed my mind over the years and I remember her first name and found out that she had passed.. I am so devastated, she passed the same year I graduated high school I would have loved to catch up with her. May she rest in peace

Eileen was my supervisor, friend, confidante, a shoulder to cry on whatever I needed at PS223Q. She gave a professional development once where she talked about the rose and the thorn, basically seeing the good along with the bad. I kept that picture of the rose hanging in my classroom until I retired. Eileen kept candy in her office because everything was better with chocolate. We encouraged each other to pray and to continue to fight. Eileen is already missed. My deepest condolences to her family especially her daughter who she adored.

Eileen was a light in my life. She ALWAYS took the time to tell me something she appreciated about me or to reach out if I wasn’t feeling well. She was truly empathetic and wise. She loved life and lived it fully. I love this website photo of her as I can see that love in her eyes and that sense of humor in her smile. She will be in my heart forever. Also—Eileen was an educator—she had a teacher’s soul—And any good teacher is also a learner. She was both, beautifully.
