Rose Mirabile

Obituary of Rose A. Mirabile

It is with great sadness that the family of Rose A. Mirabile née Orologio announces her peaceful passing on November 20th, 2022 at her home in New Hyde Park, New York. She is once again reunited with her husband of 54 earthly years, Steve Mirabile. Rose was born on January 6, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Clemente and Anna Orologio. She is survived by her sons Steven and Robert, their spouses Mary Kay and Michele, and her four loving grandchildren Amanda, Robert, Steven and Emily. Rose had a fulfilling career as a seamstress whose handiwork was found in department stores throughout the region. Then in her ‘retirement’ she had a second career as a school bus matron for Garden City Public Schools for more than 20 years. She was also a faithful member of Notre Dame Parish of New Hyde Park. Rose was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Who always enjoyed being a spectator at her grandchildren’s many sporting events. However, Rose had one hobby, family. Whether it be cooking for her family, sewing for her family, talking with her family or just being with her family, family was the driving force in her life. We ask that in remembrance of Rose, you have Chicken Soup at Thanksgiving, Lasagne at Christmas, Pizza-Chiena at Easter, and Ricotta Cookies all-year-round. Please celebrate her life, not mourn her death. In celebration of her life, we ask that you pick up the needle and thread she left for us and learn how to hem your own pants, she would have really loved that.
