Obituary of Jeannette R. Voigt
It is with great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude that the Voigt, Duvivier, Alexandre family announce the passing of our kind, caring, strong, brave, and unimaginably generous mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend Jeannette Renette Voigt.
Jeannette was the daughter of the late Rosela Lindor and the predeceased Paul Voigt. She was born and grew up in Pilate, Cap-Haitien, Haiti on January 25, 1947. She departed this earthly life on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the age of 76.
Later in November 1976 she moved to America where she lived in Brooklyn with her in-laws Jean Claude and Claudette Duvivier. She worked for thirty years caring for the elderly at Queen of Peace Residence. In 2016, she retired and took on her biggest role to care for her grandchildren Olivier and Sebastian.
Following decades of kinship, Jeannette created countless unforgettable happy memories with her newly expanded family, including her daughter Dayana, son-in-law Antonio, and their children Olivier, Sebastian, her devoted "partner in crime cousin Anne-Marie aka (Gros Bébé), God daughter Marie Ange, Dayana's siblings Fabrice, Nadedje, Cassandra, Laurenn, Patrick, Gaelle, and their children.
As her blended family continued to grow, Jeannette provided her children, grandchildren, family and friends with all the love, comfort, hospitality, humor, and stability a family could ask for.
Jeannette leaves behind her loving family: Voigt, Duvivier, Alexandre, Marcelin, Tangara, Othelot, Fuertes,Malinowski, Joachin,Dejoie, Dugue, Garrett- countless friends and acquaintances.
The most life changing partner, caretaker, confidant, and friend we could have asked for her to have, her daughter Dayana. Jeannette was a woman full of life who enjoyed gatherings, fashion, elegance, and most of all she had a big heart. She would be remembered with grace, purity, funny, or silly stories that celebrate what was good and blessed in her life.
In this sorrowful time, the family would like to request for your prayers, presence, and support in this difficult time. No gifts or flowers are required in Jeannette's memory. Please keep the family in your thoughts.
