Jimmy lived life with a joy that was larger than life, and he shared that joy with everyone he met. His kindness and generosity touched so many of us. He was a gifted storyteller, and he seemed to have a neverending supply of humorous exploits to share. Growing up, the Collins house was like my second home. I witnessed firsthand his deep love for Eileen, Jackie, Kevin, Greg, and (Golden Retriever) Shannons 1 and 2. He was an amazing man that gave so much to so many, and he will be greatly missed.

Buddy Bobby, I never wanted to have to comment on your obituary, but The Lord felt that you've done enough here wigh us and be needed a good guy "behind the sticks" up in Heaven. Instead of sharing specific memories , I'd like to just reflect from the 1st day I walked into Zach Taylor's back in 2010 until the last time I saw you earlier this year. You treated me like family and always made sure I was mentally and physically healthy. From all the Giants games at Rec Room to softball games in Cunningham, you always provided the good times and laughter. I am blessed to have you in my life as a positive influence and someone I can always depend on. I will miss you terribly but one thing is for certain , you will always have a huge place in my heart.

A dedicated family man, Coach, friend to all he met....Truly blessed were we to have Jim in our lives first through Floral Park LL and then finding him on the ballfield at Baumann's when we pulled up to that place for the first time 25+ years ago. His dedication and commitment to the LL players, especially the older group that he held together for so long, was amazing. Through his connecting gate directly to the fields at Sewanhaka, he tended the grounds there like they were a major league park. His joy at spending time with his family and friends in Week 7 at Baumann's was evident to all who spent time there with him, always a smile on his face, a memory to recall in conversation and music playing poolside. How many years did he take the van on day trips to Cooperstown to share his love of the game with anyone who wished to join him? Back home in recent years, we loved his calls about recycling or bulk pickups in the Village. Rest in peace, friend, may God comfort your family friends and until we meet again, may He hold you in the palm of his hand.

Pretty much all of my best childhood memories feature Jimmy. Vacations at Baumann's, backyard parties, UPS picnics, babysitting Jackie, Kevin & Greg. I used to love hearing all his crazy funny stories even if as a kid I didn't get all of the adult stuff. Jimmy always knew how to make everyone laugh & I could listen to him for hours, my stomach hurting from laughing so hard. I grew up and moved away and hadn't seen Jimmy in many years but those memories will always be in my heart. I know that he's touched so many lives and he will be greatly missed.
