When I met Joe, he was already well into his 80's and still shoveling snow and working on home repair projects around the house. He is an inspiration of strength and kindness and will be sorely missed. His last year was difficult and I pray he rests in peace in God's grace. I send my heart felt condolences and prayers to everyone in the Brienze and Roberts families.

I remember barbecues, trips to Jones beach and picnics at your house, Eisenhower Park and Alley Pond our families would take together. You and my father were good friends for a long time which I guess is why he named you my godfather. Though I haven't seen you since my dad's funeral I often thought about you and I'm sorry I didn't drop in on you when I had the chance. Rest in peace godfather, you had a long and good life well spent
