Obituary of Joseph N Grego

Joseph Nicholas Grego passed away on Tuesday the 9th of October, 2024.  He was a caring father and a hard-working, patient, and courageous provider who not only pushed his own boundaries and challenged himself to always do better, but also encouraged others to grow and excel. He is survived by his brother, Michael, his three sons, Nicholas, Douglas, and Richard, his partner Olga, and his grandchildren who adored him.

Joe loved his family and friends, always wanting to share his other loves with them– like his love of traveling, and the outdoors, and hard work.  He flew around the world, drove all the way to Alaska from Long Island, visited countless national parks and countries, but he especially loved New York State parks and the beaches on Long Island.  After he graduated from Baruch College he took and passed the CPA exam on his first attempt, the start of a long career in accounting and real estate, but also with his own hands he renovated the family home and replaced the blown engine on his commuter car, while helping raise a family of three boys and a dog.  Joseph was always a strong and stable presence in all of our lives, full of funny stories, dedication, experience, and love, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
