Gerrie had an amazing career in education spanning over 30 years. She started as a teacher and eventually became a guidance counselor at MacArthur High School in Levittown, NY. During that time, she acquired lifelong friends and made an incredible impact on all of her students. She was a woman before her time. She received her undergraduate degree from St. John’s University and earned her master’s at NYU. She loved to travel and explore new cultures, listen to classical music, visit museums, attend the theater, read and cook for her family and friends. Gerrie was also a devout catholic who served as a Eucharistic minster and was a member of the Rosary Society. She had a way of making everyone she met feel special. She was an amazing listener and had a positive outlook on life. She was someone you could always count on. Everyone who met her commented on how much they enjoyed speaking with her and described her as a lovely and generous soul. Finally, Gerrie loved her family and friends deeply and was adored in return. She will be greatly missed.
