Dear Andrea - please accept our condolences. The few times I met Richard he was so warm and friendly. He will be missed. I have found comfort in these words so I share them with the hope that they will comfort you: "when you are sorrowful, look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight" - k Gibran

To a dear friend, colleague and mentor. Gone too soon, but will forever be missed. Thanks for all that you thought me, advice, inspiration, guidance and the list goes on. May God bless your family with strength and courage to cope with such an immense loss, but most importantly may God bless your soul with eternal peace.

I was sad to hear the tragic news about Richard’s passing.
Richard was a colleague at Zumtobel Lighting and was a man of significant talent, creativity, and foresight. He had a true passion for lighting. In addition to his family, his legacy will be remembered through all the famous projects he designed throughout New York City and beyond.
My sincere condolences to the Marchhart family.

Rich was a member of our small wedding party when we married 30 years ago. He was kind hearted, fun and full of energy. His enthusiasm filled a room. He taught us so much about cooking and wines and we shared many dinners and laughs together. When we bought a home and then an office, he designed the lighting in both. We still are enjoying his work. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, especially, Andrea, Stefan, Trevor and Vanessa. He was a great man and we have such special memories of him.

Dear Andrea,
I am missing the words to tell how devastated we are about the news of the passing of Richard. What a horrible accident that took Richard so early. We are all shocked and so sad about this tragic news.
Richard as you know always was part of the Zumtobel Group family even though he no longer worked for us and I always hoped he would come back one day. He always felt part of the family. We cherished his knowledge, enthusiasm, charm and passion for light. Nobody can ever forget his smile
Dear Andrea I am thinking of you and your three beautiful children in this difficult time and i wish you lots of strength to continue without Richard. We all will miss him a lot but cherish his memory and feel blessed that he was part of our lives.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the whole family.
With deep sympathy
Karin and the whole Zumtobel family
