Obituary
Obituary of Thomas D. Clifford
Born October 21, 1931 in Bronx, NY to parents Marie and Edward Clifford. He was one of eight children growing up in the Great Depression. Times were hard and Tom was a good son and brother; he started working at 6 years of age to help put food on the table.
In 1953, he married Kathleen Mary Kelly—the love of his life! A devoted husband, he went on to enjoy 46 years of wedded bliss. They raised three children—Karen, Thomas and Eileen. He was a good provider and a constant, good, loving and supportive father.
Tom was a hard-working, capable employee of Con Edison—a union rep always there to help his co-workers in need. After 44 years, he retired to live out his golden years.
And so he did—he enjoyed 24 years of a pension and traveled his ‘bucket list’. After being widowed, he found romance again with Maria M.; they enjoyed 16 years together.
Loving grandfather to Kathleen, Ryan, Sean, Nicole, Jason, Nina and Elizabeth. Doting great-grandpa to 4 cherished children.
As a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, he was an active member of his church. He participated in many charitable activities and was a perennial blood donor.
He loved fully, simply, without complexity, and with a kind, gentle spirit. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, send donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
